Sage Wisdom

"Good improvisation communicates harmonic progression melodically. Effective melodies manipulate harmonic content through the use of guide tones and preparatory gravity notes, masterfully woven in systematic tension, release, and transparent harmonic definition."

May 19, 2015 | Buddy Wachter: Hungarian Dances on banjo

BenkoDixielandBand.jpg

Hard to believe what can be done on four strings, let alone with a flat pick, but internationally acclaimed music ambassador Buddy Wachter does this with world class virtuosity and a touch of humor. The video below, though a couple decades old is a timeless documentation of musicianship on a grand scale. Notice some of the duo-style playing in the middle of the performance.

Enjoy!
