Paris Swing has swung; three Gypsy treats and a John Jorgenson model out very soon. Rigel's new prototype was their with a new crunch, yet another departure for the company willing to embrace departure.
Biggest surprise, the new Gibson "Gold Rush," a totally unexpected pleasure. Tom Montgomery has a winner here. (And we thought Gibson had abandoned us jazz aficionados...) This ain't your Daddy's Gibson, Elroy!
Most promising news for us mortals, the new Alvarez mid-line mandolins. It's great to see one of the world's best fretted instrument companies address the needs of us 8-stringers. These dudes got it right, and priced for the working musician and serious hobbyist. Thanks for thinking of us, Ray Meisenzahl!
Love ya, man!
