Tércio Ribeiro
Hamilton de Holanda 10-string Signature Bandolim
From the workbench of Brazilian Master Craftsman Tércio Ribeiro, the new 10-string signature Hamilton de Holanda Bandolim, finished just days ago. Below is the exclusive JazzMando peek at the brilliant luthier whose work with wood and strings empowers the virtuoso musician his unique sound.
Tércio already has one satisfied customer this side of the equator, Randall Neal who recently received his 10-string and by all accounts, is extremely happy. We are hoping to see many more enter the US market, and soon.

Ribeiro explains the significance of the rosette around the sound hole the "Trevos de Quatro Folhas" or Four Leaf Clover. Similar to European folklore, in Brazil, the discovery of a clover with 4 leaves (usually 3) is considered extremely good luck. Without a doubt, Hamilton's playing needs no additional such fortune, but perhaps a player with this adornment will be blessed by its presence!

Specs: His tops call for the finest German Spruce wood. Back and sides utilize the best of native Brazilian Rosewood, as well as German Flamed Maple. Neck is Mahogany and the Mother of Pearl inlaid fingerboard is Madagascar Ebony. LMI Frets and Schaller tuners make up the hardware, and the entire instrument is finished in French Polish.

The headstock with its understated Mother of Pearl Logo is adorned with Schaller Tuners

The bridge is of bone, exactly the way Jacob would have it!
