Pictures of NAMM offerings posted at the world's best source of mandolin information, the MandolinCafe.com. Read up on the cool mando gear we've posted in this thread:

Paris Swing has swung; three Gypsy treats and a John Jorgenson model out very soon. Rigel's new prototype was their with a new crunch, yet another departure for the company willing to embrace departure.
Biggest surprise, the new Gibson "Gold Rush," a totally unexpected pleasure. Tom Montgomery has a winner here. (And we thought Gibson had abandoned us jazz aficionados...) This ain't your Daddy's Gibson, Elroy!
Most promising news for us mortals, the new Alvarez mid-line mandolins. It's great to see one of the world's best fretted instrument companies address the needs of us 8-stringers. These dudes got it right, and priced for the working musician and serious hobbyist. Thanks for thinking of us, Ray Meisenzahl!
Love ya, man!

January 16, 2006 | Winter NAMM 2006
Getting the bags packed and ready to head to the Winter NAMM show, the music industry's latest and greatest gadgets, toys, method books, and of course, some cool new axes. We're hoping to file a report shortly after getting back. Ironic, yesterday the high temperature in Nebraska was a record 69 degrees. (Leaving the Midwest in January for the wamer Southern California climes usually has more draw than just the show.)
Stay tuned for pictures and our peek into goings on in the beautiful new world of mando gear.
